The latest news regarding the Galaxy S7 from Samsung is that it’s slated for release in March 2016. But you won’t have to wait that long if you want to get a spectacular smartphone from Samsung, or from any smartphone manufacturer for that matter. There’s one great smartphone right now: the Samsung Galaxy S6.
The Android 5 Galaxy S6 comes with a 5.1 screen with QHD 1440 by 2560 resolution. You’ve got 3 GB for memory, and for storage you can choose from 32, 64, or 128 GB. A 16MP camera is at the rear, while in front you get 5MP. It’s powered by a 2550mAh battery.
Pros and Cons
Many experts consider the Samsung Galaxy S6 as the best smartphone in the market right now, although it does have some rather prominent drawbacks. We’ll get to those later, but it’s crucial that you realize what kind of goodies you can get first with the S6.
First of all, the quality of the display is, in a word, awesome. It really offers the sharpest details in its screen, and any side by side comparison will just embarrass the competition. The video and audio quality is truly superb, so watching a movie on this phone will be nothing short of impressive. You can also change the intensity of the screen if you want.
It’s great for playing music too as it can deal with high bitrate FLAC files with up to 24-bit sound. Even the mono speaker offers decent bass, although you should really just use headphones.
The camera is good as well. The colors are very realistic, you’ve got instant shutter speed, and most important of all for most of us the autofocus is accurate and fast. In pro mode, you can focus manually and control the sensitivity of the sensor. Many say that this camera is truly a joy to use.
Its gaming ability is also formidable, as its processor can handle just about anything. In fact, it may even expose the graphic limits of the games you play. However, if you’re a gamer you will surely appreciate the quality of the game play, the loading time and the screen response.
All in all, it looks great and it feels great in your hands too. Of course, there’s the high price to consider. Right now it costs more than an iPhone 6, and that’s saying a lot.
And there’s also the battery life issue to contend with. While you can use the power saving modes, you’ll find it very difficult to last even just one day without recharging your phone. But at least it charges very quickly.
Despite the steep price tag and the rather short battery life, the quality and experience you get with the Samsung Galaxy S6 is simply amazing. No other smartphone can beat the quality of its display, and for entertainment it’s simply unmatched. If you can afford it, then this is the smartphone for you.
